A Wee One

Over the years we have come to know many of our kids’ friends. Some of them became lifelong friends, spending time at our house and meeting us for gatherings. Yes over time, some of their friends well they are close enough for us to think of them as our own kids. If you’re a parent of adult kids, I’m sure you can relate. It’s a good thing to have those relationships and I’m thankful that our kids’ friends felt comfortable enough with us they wanted to be around.

Last night I was glancing at social media and saw a post that made my heart happy, it made me smile just reading it. A close friend of our daughter, one who is kind of like a third child to us, well, she’s going to be a momma 🙂 . Yes, a wee one is on the way for Jenn and Jason.

As I think back on the friendship between Jenn and our youngest daughter Lauren, I laugh at some of the memories. You see Jenn is quite the entrepreneur, she’s a creative woman, who can make almost anything on the arts and crafts front. She can turn an old piece of furniture into a masterpiece. Oh did I mention she can remodel a house for you in just a few weeks? And…she might have a love of running a backhoe as well, (take a look at their baby announcement picture below). She taught my daughter all kinds of life skills, especially when it comes to the remodeling of homes 🙂 .

So, I look forward to the coming months getting updates as Jenn turns from remodeling homes to making a home for her wee one. Carrying a child, having it grow within you, it changes you. Father made us to bring new life into the world, and through that process, we grow to experience unconditional, unexplainable love for our child. The same love that Jesus has for us. Love that surpasses all understanding.

Help me wish congratulations to Jenn and Jayson. Please lift prayers for a safe and healthy pregnancy, and a healthy wee one in the coming months.

Have a wonderful day my friends!

Psalm 127:3
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward.
