Can You Just Guide Me

I think we have all probably been in a place where we feel lost. We’re struggling to make heads or tales of whatever is in our hands. We feel like we are floating on the ocean and there is no lighthouse or beach to guide us. I know I have been there, many times in my life. I also know that I have tried to “go it alone”. I excluded Father from the process; I didn’t need Him, I knew what I was doing. Did I?

Well, here I am, MANY years later, and with a more educated and adult outlook. Back then, ya I wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box. I did some stupid things when I was younger. Some of my decisions though, well they were some of the best I’ve made in my life.

We are human, we all make mistakes, some of them bigger than we hope. However, at the end of the day, our Lord is there for us. If we can drop our guard and ask Him for forgiveness and guidance, well, we can be amazed by the outcome. Sometimes it’s difficult to ask for guidance. We don’t want to appear weak, we don’t want to appear scared. But…you know what, God doesn’t care about any of that. God only wants us to come to him in love, asking for His guidance to do His will. That my friends is simply that.

So, each morning and evening I sit before our Lord and have a “little chat”. I ask Him to simply guide me to follow His will. I know there are many like me, who talk with our Lord and ask similar things. We need to do more of this, come together as a community to ask Father for guidance.

I see more people publicly praying these days. Saying grace at meals, a prayer before a meeting, a simple word to a friend that, “God loves you and won’t desert you”, yes it’s more noticeable these days and I’m so thankful for that.

Friends, whatever you may have going on in your life, there is nothing, no challenge too big for our Lord. Take a moment to stop in the midst of whatever chaos may be happening, give that chaos and the entire issue to Father. Ask Him, “Can you just guide me through this?”. And…keep asking. Then when you are clearly on the other side thank Him for getting you through 🙂 .

Have a good day friends 🙂 .

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
