The anniversary of the start of this little blog is coming up. In just a few weeks, I’ll mark three years of putting down some daily thoughts here along with a sunrise or sunset picture and a bible verse. This morning, I revisited my first five blogs. I realized how this little blog has changed over the years. My goodness, how Father has blessed me each day, providing thoughts and sharing some simple messages of hope, faith, and trust in Him.
I thought it might be fun to share one of those first five blogs here this morning. This is blog number four. It was titled, “Want to Make God Laugh”. It was a simple message and a reminder that we are not in control. As I read this blog this morning, I realized this was about the time that I started sitting with Father each morning and evening on the lanai to “chat”. My relationship with Him has grown so much through writing these daily ramblings 🙂 .
So friends, here is a little walk back several years to the beginning of this little blog.
Want to Make God Laugh?
A friend of mine once said, “Do you want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans.” True statement.
How often do we go down a path thinking we have a plan all laid out, only to have it totally upended. Everything is going along so smoothly, then wham, the bottom falls out.
Remember, our plans may not, and probably are not God’s plans. As much as we like to think we are in control, um, not so much. Time to check that thinking at the door.
I have a better idea, as difficult as it is to give up control, (trust me…I know how difficult giving up control is), why not set aside time each day to ask Father to guide you. “Father, show me the path you’d like for me to walk. Be in my heart and in my mind and help me to stop and listen to your guidance.”
Share a sunrise or a sunset with Father and spend some time giving him control. Trust me, it won’t be long before you feel an understanding of the path you should take, like writing a little blog for instance 🙂
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and to not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
