You all know that I sit with Father in the morning before coming here to share my thoughts. This morning was no different, well, it was a little. My husband is heading in to work later this morning so he’s enjoying a little extra time before his alarm goes off. That means that when I sat out on the lanai this morning it was dark. The only light on in the house was the one in my office.
It was peaceful on the lanai, as I sat and let myself relax. There was lightning off in the distance, which made me smile and say, “Good morning Father”. I began my prayer and asked that He come into my heart and calm my thoughts so that I may be closer to Him. Oh my goodness, what I heard clearly next…”Here I am my child”. That presence, well, what a better way to begin a day, than knowing that He is with me.
As I sat down to type this little blog I thought of the many times in the Bible where the Lord calls His people and they answer, saying, “Here I am Lord”. I thought about Moses being called from the bush. He called to Samuel, and he too said, “Here I am”, not once, but many times. He called to Abraham in the beginning.
Throughout history, but more importantly in our very own lives, Father calls to us. He wants us to come to Him, ready to serve and do His work. But…we don’t have to do it alone, because just as we answer the call saying, “Here I am Lord”, well, He will make his presence known.
It’s so important to take time each day to be with Father, to give Him ourselves, the good, the bad, and the ugly. The more we share and open up to Him, the stronger our faith and trust in Him becomes. Then, without even realizing it, He is there, saying, “Here I am my child.”
Friends, spend time with the Lord. Answer when He calls, and listen when He speaks. Let Him have whatever challenges you face, burdens you carry, or fears you can’t shake. He will heal and make all things new. So go ahead, let Him know, “Here I am Father”.
Have a good day friends. Continued prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.
Exodus 3:4
When the Lord saw that he turned aside to se, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!”. And he said, “Here I am”.
