My daily talks with Father are many times like conversations. I share my thoughts and ask for support with whatever may be happening at the time. I ask for guidance and forgiveness, and I even joke with Him. Yes, I pray for others each morning and evening, and I give thanks for the many blessings He has provided. It’s a fluid conversation most days.
This morning my time with Him started as it usually does. Then I found myself thinking about the Texas storms and all those affected. I ended my usual prayer time and then found myself immediately saying the Lord’s Prayer. It wasn’t something I just decided to do; no, it just happened – the words just started coming. If it makes any sense, I could feel the Lord encouraging me to recite this beautiful prayer of hope and strength. His words, His prayer, it is a prayer of comfort. In these difficult times, we need just that, the comfort of our Father.
So this morning, I share His prayer for all who need it, umm, I think that would be all of us. Let the words comfort you in whatever you may be going through, whatever you may be feeling, let them give you strength and peace, knowing that the Lord is with you.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed by the Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen
Continued prayers for those in Texas, and continued prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.
