I have a new team member, and I’m so thankful. Yesterday was her first day and as you could expect it was a little hectic. That first week of training always is. Things came together nicely, though, and even though we were busy, we accomplished a great deal.
I was thinking about the little training plan I put together this morning, complete with a binder and sections for my new person to fill on her own as she makes notes and learns new tasks and processes. This plan wasn’t anything fancy, I didn’t put together how-to videos or lengthy tutorials, (although there are a few of those in our software training). No, it’s simple step-by-step instructions and information about how we do what we do.
As I thought about our first day of training yesterday, I thought about God’s plan for us. Many times we don’t know what that plan is, I guess most times we don’t. However, when the Lord does speak to us and we start to understand where he is guiding us, we need to do. Even if we don’t think that we are qualified to do what Father is calling us, He pretty much knows better than we do, and well, that’s where trust comes in. Trust and do.
There is a wonderful woman in western NC who started a disaster response organization after Hurricane Helene. She was a realtor, well still is, and had NO, like ZERO disaster response experience. Now she is not only continuing to help NC, in conjunction with the federal government, but she is helping places like TX to mobilize the same response in their communities. This woman had no idea what she was doing, although she felt the call of the Lord to do. She had contacts and knew many people in many industries, she sat down each night, made a little list, (a plan), and the next day she did. Was God’s plan for her to start a disaster relief organization? Probably not initially. I think His plan for her was to help those in need. She did, and she continues to do.
Yes, friends, Father is calling all of us to do something. It may be something as simple as volunteering at your grandchild’s school. Maybe it’s to get involved with a charity in your town. Or maybe, He wants you to just bake some homemade cookies and deliver them to your neighbor. I believe though, that He is calling all of us to do something.
So this morning as you head to work, or maybe you’re heading out to enjoy a day on that family vacation, whatever it is look for opportunities to do. When you drive through that coffee line, pay it forward and buy the cup for the car behind you. Ask Father to guide you, listen for His answer, and then, well…let’s git ‘r done 🙂 .
Have a wonderful day friends.

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
