You all know that there are days when my thoughts don’t quite come together for this little blog. Most of the time, I have an idea of what I want to share here, but there are times when I start to type and before I realize it, what I’m writing just doesn’t come together, and I have a pile of random thoughts.
Isn’t that kind of how life is, though? Most of the time, we have a plan and we’re moving along through life just fine. Then, all of a sudden, something happens to throw us off course. Before we realize it, we have just a random pile of stuff to deal with. Yes, at times, it’s going to happen, stuff that we have to deal with, stuff that we have to push our way through. I guess the good thing is that we don’t have to deal with the random stuff by ourselves.
This morning, as I talked with Father, I noticed the lightning in the distance. It was pretty dark outside, so when the flashes came, it lit up the sky. I felt Father there, and when I asked about what to share this morning, what I heard was “Be close to Me today”. That is a wonderful feeling to have, being close to our Lord.
Friends, life can be a jumble of random stuff that we have to deal with. We don’t have to do it alone, nor should we. If we actively seek to be close to Jesus every day, then the craziness of this world, well, it just doesn’t seem to affect us the way satan would like. Walking close to Him, having Him front and center in our lives, having Him as the focus, well, the random piles of stuff, they become more organized, and before we know it, we are on the other side.
So, make a point of just being close to the Lord today. Start your day with Him. As the day becomes hectic, stop and be close to Him. Say a little prayer at lunch. As that afternoon becomes hectic, yes, stop and be close to Him. Finish your day by thanking Him for being there and for guiding you through. I think you’ll realize with Him by your side, your random piles of stuff, well, they just weren’t.
Have a great day friends. Continued prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.
