Not My Guide

This morning was one of those where, quite honestly, I was ready to hit the button on the alarm and roll back over. Have to admit I’m still feeling the coziness of my pillow calling me. We all have those days, I guess, when we want to just snuggle back down into the comfort of the bed and catch just a few more winks.

Well, I have managed to keep moving so far, and having shaken the urge to crawl back into bed, I was reading some prayers this morning. I think part of my desire to snuggle back into my pillow is the to-do list. I don’t have a list of difficult things, just a long list, and there are just those days, I guess, when you don’t want to tackle any of it πŸ™‚ .

This morning I found this prayer, and…well…it spoke to me for obvious reasons. I share it here in case you are like me, dragging just a bit and wanting to put the to-do list in the drawer for a day.

“O Lord, my soul delights in You! Your love never fails. It goes before me, leading me through every step of the day. Calendars, to-do lists, and notifications are not my guide. Where you lead me, I will go. I will speak the words You speak into my spirit and quickly repent when You reveal my sin, for I give myself to You today and every day, Lord. Thank you for this day, Lord, may I be guided by You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

Yep, there will be days when we feel just ho-hum, that’s okay. What is key is to lean into Father and let Him lift us to where we need to be. So, let’s do this, friends, one step in front of the other.

Have a great day. Continued prayers for our sweet Emily Rea and her return.

Psalm 143:8
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You.
