I’m guessing we’ve all had times, situations, challenges where we don’t know where to start. You all know that there are days when I sit down here and I haven’t a clue what to share. I sit and think about things; I retrace my days, and I pray and ask for help from Father. Even then, some mornings I draw a complete blank.
Many mornings, though, I get a little encouragement, I hear a message, a word comes to mind, and I’m off to the races. This morning was one of those times, as I talked with Jesus, I heard the words “Just begin”. Hmmm…that I think was the answer to the occasional “writer’s block” I get. “Just start typing, I’ll provide the words”.
I believe this message applies to our everyday lives. There are times when we are faced with challenges, and we freeze. We don’t know where to even begin. I think about our recent hurricanes over the past few years. When you arrive on the scene after the water has subsided, you look around, and it’s overwhelming. You look at the devastation and wonder if things will ever be the same. Then, you just begin. Pick up debris, grab a mop, find a trash bag, and just start the process of cleaning up.
In every situation we face in this world, natural disaster, loss of a loved one, career change, or maybe moving across the country, we have to start somewhere. Of course, that first step is asking the Lord to be with us and give us the strength we need to take those initial steps. Then, we just begin, we take one baby step at a time, and soon the steps become strides, and eventually we have solid footing to move forward.
Yes, friends, life will bring us challenges, but with those come opportunities. God will be there through each step we take. Making the first step, it’s sometimes the hardest, but when we take it, when we just begin, the steps that follow get a little easier.
Have a good day my friends 🙂 .
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
