Share the Sky

Last night, a friend sent me a text message. It was a picture of the most beautiful sunset over the water. She said she had received it from a friend. When she saw it, she said, “It made me think of you”. That makes me smile.

Later in the evening, I was checking the social media page of one of our local weather guys. We’re still tracking tropical storm Erin right now, even though it looks like it’s going to move out to sea. Continued prayers for that, please. He had posted a series of sunset pictures from across SW Florida that his viewers shared with him. Just looking at those pictures made me think, “Ahhh”. How can you not feel more at peace when you see the beauty of Father’s creation in the painted horizon of a sunrise or a sunset?

He puts them there for a reason, you know? The Lord creates those beautiful images of the sun rising and setting to remind us that He did just that. He created everything, and in the beginning, He gave it to us. Father gave us the most beautiful, priceless gifts. The sunrise. The sunset. His Son. Yes, beautiful and priceless.

Too often, we forget how blessed we are. Too often, we take for granted those gifts. We don’t take a moment to go watch the sunset because we’re too busy, too tired, or we simply lose track of time. That, my friends, is just sad.

The Lord gave us these gifts. They are beautiful, and they make us feel peace when we experience them. So, let’s take more time to do just that, and let’s share it when we do. Share the sky, my friends. Enjoy the beauty that God gives in the simple morning and evening times. Don’t put off to tomorrow what you can do today 🙂 .

Have a great day friends. Prayers as always for the return of sweet Emily Rea.

Ecclesiastes 11:7
Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun.
