Present Day Prayer

It’s Thursday, and the weekend is around the corner already. That’s not a bad thing. And…this weekend we have our 13th Annual fishing tournament at our church. This is a fun family event. Prizes for the kids and adults. Lots of food, lots of fun, and lots of stories about the “one that got away”.

As we head into this Thursday, I share a prayer I read this morning. My goodness, it is a present-day prayer indeed. As soon as I read it, I was like, “Um, ya, that is a prayer that needs to be said EVERY day, not just on a Thursday”. I think you’ll understand when you read it.

You know, sometimes this little blog post can just be little, because the message in it doesn’t take a lot of words. Sometimes the shortest messages are the most powerful. So, this morning I simply share this prayer with you, not because it’s Thursday, but because it’s a new day.

Father, so often I ask for a Happy Thursday, rather than asking what You have planned for me in it. Let me notice the works of Your hands today instead of the latest social media post. Show me the best way to share Jesus’ teaching and love with all whose path I cross today. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Have a wonderful day, my friends. Please continue to lift prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.

p.s. Thanks to my friend Audrey Clements for her beautiful sunrise picture from the hills of Tennessee, the cover of today’s little blog.

John 14:13
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
