My Heart, Your Heart

A few mornings ago, I was sitting on the lanai having my regular a.m. check-in with Father. I was asking for prayers for my “regulars,” I call them. Of course, family and friends, but also those who have specific needs, such as the return of sweet Emily Rea. As I talked with Him and prayed, I said something that I hadn’t before. I regularly ask for the Lord to light my path, to guide me in the direction He wants me to go. However, that morning I instinctively said, “Please let my heart be Your heart.”

I’m not sure where that ask came from, but at the end of the day, I think that pretty much sums up what He asks us to do every day, live with a heart that is like His, like Jesus.

As I’ve been thinking about that morning, and those words, I’m like…” Wow, that’s a lot of pressure. Let my heart be like His”. Is it really, though? Sometimes I think we make it more difficult than it needs to be. I know I sure do. We really do just need to treat others as we want to be treated, and when we don’t, ask for forgiveness and the strength to do better next time. That last part, the asking for forgiveness, means we have to admit that we didn’t hold up our end, and it can be tough sometimes to do that. But…when we do, we get stronger, we get closer to Father, and our hearts become more like His each time.

So friends, live every day with the knowledge that God loves you, and He wants you and me to share that love in all that we do. We got this. Let’s live every day to have a heart like His heart.

Have a good day, friends, and thanks as always for being here to read my ramblings in this little blog 🙂 .

Psalm 145:18
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
