I was having a conversation with a friend yesterday. We were discussing our busy schedules, juggling the various things in our day. We were discussing the general craziness out there these days, I swear there is a full moon like 6 out of the 7 days a week 🙂 . What was interesting was we both commented how we have been praying for some armor of God to fight ole’ satan and his group of cronies.
That evil one, he can do some damage if you let him. He finds a crack, and he just patiently paws at it until that crack becomes a crevasse, and then, before you know it, that crack has become a major opening for him to come in and do his dirty work. He toys with your thoughts, encourages you to feel angry, stressed, or sad. He tries to convince you that our Lord isn’t there and has deserted you. That, my friends, is when you stop and ask Jesus to reinforce that armor.
As I chatted with my friend yesterday, we almost in unison said, “Yep, not today, satan, back into your hole you go”. When we both laughed, but you know what, I actually felt that tingle I get when Father is near. I’ve talked about it before. He was right there in the middle of the conversation, and I could almost see Him smiling, and hear Him say, “Yes, I’m here and Yes, your armor is strong”.
I was a little overwhelmed with several things yesterday, but after the conversation with my friend, after realizing that I’m stronger than I think, well, I went to bed in a much better place. Knowing that I’m not alone on many fronts, friends, family, and most importantly, Father walking with me, it’s all I need.
Friends, don’t underestimate the power of prayer, and prayer in numbers is even better. Don’t underestimate the power of saying, “Not today, satan, back into your hole”. Don’t underestimate the power of asking our Lord to wrap you in His armor. We got this, friends 🙂 .
Have a great day, and please lift prayers for sweet Emily Rea’s return.
p.s. Shout out to my friend Liz Brunson for another wonderful sunset from the heartland, this one over the bean fields. It’s the cover of today’s little blog.
Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
