He Gives

I was reading a post from a friend on social media yesterday. She’s been through a difficult few months, yet through it all, her faith has kept her strong. I talked to her a few weeks ago, and she mentioned that she wasn’t sure why the Lord felt she was so strong, but she was going to trust Him.

I think when we face challenges in our lives, it’s easy to feel like Father may have left our side. What I’ve come to see is that He never leaves our side; we forget to acknowledge that He’s there. I’m not sure why it’s so easy to do that, and so easy to let satan sneak in. Maybe it’s because our Lord doesn’t force Himself on us. He wants us to freely choose Him. He gives us the opportunity to live in a loving relationship with Him, not by force but by choice.

Yes, He gives us all that we need. Actually, I guess we could argue that sometimes He gives us what we don’t need. That free will thing, well, it can get a little bumpy sometimes with the choices we make.

I know this: if we choose to let Father and His Son into our hearts fully, if we choose to always go to them first, we will find the incredible gift of joy and indescribable love. Love that we cannot even comprehend. Can you imagine the love of Jesus, to be brutally tortured for us? That is a gift that is so incredible, and it was freely given to us.

So friends, the Lord does give us all that we need in this life. The question is, are we able to recognize it? Are we able to learn from what He is giving? If we keep an open heart and Him squarely in the center of it, I believe we can. Remember, He never promised easy; He promised we’d not have to face it alone.

Have a good day, friends. Prayers lifted for the return of sweet Emily Rea.

One note, I’m traveling tomorrow, so no little blog, I’ll be back on Saturday πŸ™‚

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
