What We Need

Sometimes we pray and pray and pray, and it seems like Father isn’t hearing us. Sometimes we think that He’s not answering our prayers. Sometimes we lose hope.

What I’ve been learning more and more since my relationship with our Lord has strengthened is that He gives us what we need, which many times is not what we ask for. It’s hard for us, His children, to accept that sometimes. Those of us who are parents (and grandparents) have been there many times. Our kids and grandkids want things, and it’s our responsibility to give them what they need, not necessarily what they want. No different from Father.

Last night, as I settled back into my room after a wonderful day of seeing so many friends, getting so many hugs, and sharing so many laughs, I noticed a gift. I stared out the window to see the most beautiful Texas sunset. My goodness, the sky was an amazing color. Father knew just what I needed. I was tired, hungry, and a little stiff from the day, and He knew that gift would relax me. He was right.

Friends, He is always there to give us what we need. Whether it be strength, comfort, or the love that surpasses our understanding, He gives it. We just need to be open to accepting it. So today, be open, be accepting, and know that He is providing just what we need πŸ™‚ .

Have a wonderful day, friends. Continued prayers are lifted for sweet Emily Rea’s return.

p.s. The cover of today’s little blog is that gift from my hotel window last night πŸ™‚
