A few weeks ago, I shared about a little Jesus that a friend gave to me, well, to many while we were at an event. You can read more about it in this little blog.
Well, last week, while at the outing for the 65+ golf group I work with, I carried little Jesus around with me everywhere. I’ve pretty much had Him in my pocket since receiving Him. Thursday evening, after dinner, I came home and finished packing for the trip home. When I woke up Friday morning and got ready to head out the door, I realized that I didn’t have my little Jesus. I searched the pockets of the pants I was wearing the night before, where He had been, not there. I searched my bags and jacket, nothing. I was extremely sad, feeling that I had dropped him somewhere enroute. I felt a little lost on the trip home for sure.
When I got home Friday night, I only unpacked enough to get to the needed items, figuring I would finish on Saturday morning. Still struggling a bit with some tenderness in my shoulder and neck, I just wanted to tend to that. Well, yesterday morning I got up to head to a little pampering appointment (nails and hair). I began to unpack before I left. I pulled out a stack of clothes, and out fell little Jesus at my feet.
I wish I could tell you the relief I felt seeing Him. I don’t believe His appearing at that moment was an accident. I think He showed up just when I needed Him. Some events occurred yesterday that, for now, I won’t share. I will, however, ask for prayer for healing for someone I love. I believe that Jesus appeared just when I needed Him. He knew what was to transpire in the hours ahead, and He was there as He always is.
Friends, when you think that Jesus isn’t there. When you feel like He’s left you to handle things alone, get down on your knees and pray. Ask Him to be there with you, ask Him to give you the strength to go on. He is always there, He is just waiting for us to invite Him in.
Yes, Jesus appeared yesterday when He knew I would need Him the most, and He will be there for you as well. Call on Him, invite Him in.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
