Yesterday, I shared a broadcast that Paul Harvey did back in 1965. He shared his thoughts about what he would do if he were satan, how he would get the world under his control. It was eerie because, quite frankly, everything he mentioned, well, it has happened or is happening.
A priest friend of mine, whom I’ve mentioned here many times, well, he sent me a text yesterday after reading my blog. The first was a meme that said, “Satan is not fighting churches; he is joining them. He does more harm by sowing lares than by pulling up wheat. He accomplishes more by imitation than by outright opposition”. That was written by Vance Havner. When I read that, I thought Wow, yep, the fallen one is very clever.
My friend went on to send me a follow-up text where he said, “The devil is not horned and scary but is everything you desire as a human. Everything that would drive one away from God”. Again, I thought, “Wow, that is so true”. We have seen the images of satan so many times, horns, red eyes, just evil. Now, who knows, maybe he does look like that. However, when I think about how he moves among us, how he so easily tempts and moves us toward what WE want vs. what Father wants, he is blending in with humanity so as not to be seen.
I think it’s interesting how Father has focused me and others (I’ve had conversations with many people) on the fallen one these last few days. God is at work, my friends, He is truly opening the eyes of His children to show them how easily they can be turned. He is showing us the way back to Him, and giving so many the strength to say, “No satan, I will not follow that path”.
Friends, be strong in faith, stand firm in the knowledge that God is with us, He will never forsake us, and He always wins! He is there, ask for the strength you need to make the right decisions, those that bring you closer to the Lord.
Have a good day friends, it’s Saturday, go spend it with family and friends, and hey, maybe even catch a college football game 🙂 .
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
