This morning I was reflecting on some conversations I’ve had with friends over the past few weeks. Some of them are experiencing health issues, while others are facing other life challenges. In all their situations, they hold firm in their faith and love for Father. We’ve talked about how easy it is for satan to make his way into our hearts and minds when we are vulnerable and hurting. He sees a crack, a window of sorts, and crawls himself right in to plant seeds of doubt and fear. It takes constant vigilance to seal the crack, close the window, and tell him no, not interested in what you’re peddling today.
As I was praying for my friends and their various needs this morning, healing, strength, etc., I realized that I wasn’t asking the Lord to protect them against the powers of the fallen one. That is just as important as praying for their physical bodies and broken hearts, maybe even more so.
Thinking about those friends and their situations, Father tapped me on the shoulder, and I heard, “Psalm 23”. I mean, I kind of looked around because I heard it as if someone was standing in front of me. Well, ok then, I guess that is the message He wants me to share today in His little blog.
Friends, life can be bumpy, no doubt. However, the strength that we gain from our Lord can help smooth the road we travel. The gift of His word, His promises, shows the love He has for us. He will never leave us. So today, I share Psalm 23 for all those who need to remember that even through the darkest times, His goodness will follow us.
Prayers lifted for all those in need today. Whatever the challenges, know that you are loved and that our Lord is right beside you.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. Amen
