There are many special gifts in this world. I invite you for a moment to think about the special gifts in your life. Now, take a moment and openly say, “Thank you Lord for the gift of ____and____and____“. Feel free to add to the list. It’s important that we give thanks every day for the gifts in our lives, however small we may think they are; every gift is, in fact, a gift from our Lord.

Today, I especially give thanks for the gift of my husband Bob. We’ve been together a long time. Like most couples, we’ve faced challenges, celebrated wonderful times, and most importantly, have a love that has grown over those many years. He is celebrating a birthday today, and I give thanks for the gift of his day today 🙂 .

If you’ve been reading this little blog for very long, you know that I share the “birthday prayer” with my family each year. It actually was a tradition started with a long-time friend of ours. He would always call and say it to each one of us on our day. After he passed away, I took it over.

So, today I offer this prayer for you Bob.
Watch over thy child, O Lord, as his days increase; bless and
guide him wherever he may be. Strengthen him when he
stands; comfort him when discouraged or sorrowful; raise
him up if he fall; and in his heart may thy peace which
passeth understanding abide all the days of his life;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you Lord for the gift of a special man that you gave to me 🙂 .
