This morning, I got another reminder that I really am not in control. Newsflash, I really do need to remember that, it makes for easier days 🙂 .
Last week at work, our IT company did a security update to our system, including our email system. We have to have all the necessary processes in place for two-step authentication and the like. I wasn’t worried; I have everything set up.
This morning, I wanted to clear a few things out of email before we hit the road. I went to log in to my email only to get an error message that I needed to log out and back in. No problem, I entered my username and password. Up pops a message saying that I logged in successfully, but I’m not able to access anything because the system doesn’t recognize my device. Um…isn’t that what 2-step authentication is for?! I didn’t even get the option to go through the authentication, grrr…
Well, to say I was irritated would be an understatement. However, it was only a few moments after my rant that I heard the Lord say, “Really? You don’t need to look at work today, you need to make your way to your family”. Yes, I think Father had other plans this morning. He doesn’t want me focused on work. He wants my focus on something more important. So, I’m finishing up this little blog and then will unplug my laptop for the rest of the day.
Friends, just remember, we really aren’t in control of what happens in this life. Father will pretty much bring us back to His plans, and when He does, I hope we can recognize when it happens.
So today, take time for family, friends, and Father. Make memories, share stories, and know that the one who loves us more than we can fathom is totally in control.
Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
