Celebrate Prayer

Yes, I think we should…celebrate prayer that is. I guess that seems kind of odd to say, let’s celebrate prayer. Well, I don’t know why we wouldn’t, because you know, it’s a pretty amazing thing. The power of prayer is real, and it’s a force to be reckoned with.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve come here to ask you to pray for two sweet little boys. One, Joey underwent tests to see if he could be removed from a ventilator that he must use to breathe at night. The other, Briggs, who is less than a week old, had open-heart surgery yesterday.

Well, friends, your prayers, our prayers, they have been answered. Joey’s test results came back, and the news is good. His family can begin weaning him off the ventilator at night. Briggs came through the surgery great; all went as planned. And…it took seven hours, not the ten they had originally thought.

The families of both boys have asked that I let you know how they are doing, and that I thank you all for your prayers 🙂 . I thank you as well, friends. Your compassion for those you have never met is humbling, and it’s proof that God is at work in this world. He is guiding His children back to who we should be.

So today, yes, I say let’s celebrate the incredible power of prayer. And…let’s celebrate these two young boys and the future they have in front of them. Continue to lift prayers for healing as they both recover.

Thank you again, everyone, prayers this morning as well for the return of sweet Emily Rea. Father, please bring this child home.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
