I had a wonderful conversation yesterday. I came here last week to ask for prayers for little baby Briggs, the grandson of a friend of mine. And…pray you did.
Briggs’ grandmother has been keeping me updated. He had a little setback last week, but the medical team assured the family that he was doing well. With each update, I was sending out text messages to a small prayer warrior group, in addition to asking you all to continue to pray for the little guy.
Well, yesterday the update came that Briggs had come out of his second surgery (this time to close the chest after several days of letting the inflammation subside), and he was doing really well. His heart rate is where the doctors want it, and it seems that little Briggs is on the road to recovery 🙂 . My friend wanted me to share this latest update with all of you and to once again say THANK YOU for the continued prayers.
When I got the update from my friend, I sent it on to my prayer warrior group as well. Of course, the responses were excited relief and praise to Father for answering prayers. One response put into perspective what a community of God’s children means. “As we sit in church waiting for the service to begin, we rejoice about this great news of baby Briggs. Tell his grandma that he has a dozen adopted grandmas now”. I shared this note with Briggs’ grandma. Her response: “I love this! I cannot stop crying. There are so many wonderful people in this world.”
Friends, we all need prayer at some point in our lives. No matter how big or small the situation or challenge is, know that prayer is a mighty force in this world. And…there are people who are willing to lift prayers to help others (who they may not even know), heal.
Don’t be afraid to ask for prayer, and be open to praying for others, even perfect strangers. When we do that, we are doing what Jesus asked, “Love others as I have loved you”. Yes, friends, be an adopted grandma, or grandpa 🙂 .
Have a good day everyone. Thanks for always being here!
James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
