I’ve shared with you all before that sometimes I come to this little blog and don’t have a clue what I’m going to say. Father usually gives me a boost, and everything falls into place. Well, this morning I had just the opposite issue. I have several thoughts that I’d like to share, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to weave them all together without making this post as lengthy as a novel š . So, I’ll do my best not to ramble too much.
I was going to come here and share some great news about baby Briggs, whom we’ve been praying for over the last few weeks. Yes, little Briggs was well enough to go home a few nights ago. The video of him in his little car seat was just precious! Thank you, friends, for your heartfelt prayers. The Lord heard and answered them and gave an awesome Christmas gift to this family.
So this morning, as I was thinking about Briggs and the miracle of his healing, I began to think about relationships. That led me to think about how painful it can be sometimes. When we open ourselves to love others, there is a price associated with it.
Take a moment to think about those you love or have loved in your lifetime. Think about your parents, siblings, spouse, your children, or friends. Now, take a moment to give thought to those times when you have been hurt in those relationships. Maybe it was a breach of trust, or think about when your loved ones went home to Jesus, or there was simply a misunderstanding that grew into a feud that created pain in those relationships. Yes, when we love, there is a price.
Now, think about the love that Father has for us. Think about the unconditional love that is so great, He gave us His only Son. Think about the love that Jesus has for us, that He knowingly sacrificed all so we can live in eternity with Him. Yes, friends, Jesus loves us so much, He was willing to pay the price.
My point this morning, through the lengthy ramblings, is this: yes, when we love, there is a price. However, I, for one, am willing to pay that price and endure the potential pain that may occur. You see, the joy and benefits that come from loving others are worth it in my opinion. Jesus showed us that so clearly.
Have a good day, my friends. Thanks as always for being here, and thanks for your prayers for little Briggs. Continued prayers lifted for the return of sweet Emily Rea.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
