When God Says Enough

If you read this little blog daily, you probably noticed that I didn’t publish one yesterday. There is a story behind why that I would like to share.

I’ve talked a little bit here about a very close group of friends who, over time we have we have become prayer warriors as well. Well, a few nights ago, one of these friends chimed in on our group text to share that she’d been having trouble with her foot and had just learned she’d need to wear a boot for several weeks.

As the conversation continued, it rolled into how we felt this was God telling her to slow down and take care of herself. Now, mind you, everyone in this group might be considered workaholics. At one point, a friend commented, “We’re all guilty of doing what you’re doing, working too much”. To which I sent a smart alec remark, “I’m not guilty of that”, with an LOL after.

Well, later that evening, as I was going to bed, I didn’t feel right. Sure enough, about an hour later, I was up and was up all night. Something I ate did not agree with me. Yesterday I was home, and sleep was about all I could muster, hence no little blog.

I’m much better today, and I’ve been thinking that my little joke to my friends, well, maybe Father thought otherwise. I can hear him saying, “Hmm, I think it’s time for you to take your own advice and slow down”. Slow down, I did that is for sure 🙂 .

You might think all this is a reach, but I do believe that God intervenes in our lives. Even with something as small as taking a break and letting your body get the rest that it needs. I believe there are times when He says, “Enough”. I do believe there will be a time when the wrongs in this world are made right. There will be a time when the sorrow and pain will disappear into joy and peace. When Jesus returns, all will be as it should be.

Until then, we do need to take care of these temporary homes, our bodies. We do need to give ourselves a break, get rest, make sure to laugh and love, and not feel guilty about any of it.

Have a good day, friends. Take some time this weekend to rest and relax, and enjoy the gifts that He gives.

p.s. Thanks to my granddaughter Dakota for the sunset pic from the heartland last night after their rainstorm, the cover of today’s little blog.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
