When Things Don’t Come Together

Last week, I had one of those unusual days. You know, everything was just off. I went to sign something, and my pen ran out of ink. Sent a document to the printer, and an error message popped up that I’d never seen before. A phone call asking questions about really off-the-wall things that I usually don’t deal with. You get the idea, it was just a series of stuff that happened. Things just weren’t coming together that day.

This morning, as I was talking with Father, asking what I could share for Him today, my mind went back to that day last week. I heard “When things don’t come together”. I laughed and said, “Ok, Lord, let me see if I’m understanding the message”.

We all have those times when we feel out of sorts, when our days are just not quite right. How many times have you gotten to the end of the day and thought, “Wow, what a weird day”? I wonder if those days occur because we aren’t connected to the Lord as we should be? We aren’t grounded with Him for whatever reason.

I know if I get out of a routine of sitting with Father in the morning and evening, something feels off. Starting my day with Him sets the tone for the day. Ending my day with Him allows me to say thank you for being with me, guiding me through the day. What I miss, many times, is taking time throughout the day to connect with the Lord. When I’m in the midst of those off days, well, that’s when I should stop and reconnect. Let the weirdness go, and begin again, so to speak, with Him at my side.

I’m not saying there won’t be “those days”. I just think I need to handle them differently. Stop trying to make sense of it, stop trying to go it alone, let Father take the reins and follow His lead. Ya, type A personalities like me, that’s an easy thing to do. Newsflash, Father knows who I am, knows my strengths and weaknesses, um, He gave ’em to me.

Friends, when things just aren’t coming together, when you’re having one of “those days”, stop, give it to the Lord, and let Him set it all back in place. We don’t have to do it alone πŸ™‚ .

Have a great day, everyone. Continued prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.
