Yep, that’s what I’m doing today. One of my first 2026 posts in this little blog was about taking the time to work on the paint-by-number that I purchased at Christmas back in 2020. Yes, five years ago, and I haven’t come close to finishing it. This is the year that I do.
I encouraged you all to make time to enjoy a hobby this year. Take time to let your brain and body relax and do what they need to do to be happy. You notice I said do what your brain and body need to do, not necessarily what you need or want to do 🙂 .
Well, this morning I’m headed out to our “arts fellowship” group at church. We sit on the waterside end of our parish hall and work on whatever project we want to bring. There is fellowship, laughter, catching up, and yes, progress on the hobby. Oh, and the view of the water is an extra bonus!
It was a toss-up between being on the water this morning and painting. I have some things to do this afternoon, so timing-wise, going to the arts fellowship is the better option. See how I made a point of doing something to be out of work mode?
Go ahead, friends, take some time today, stick to it, give your mind and body a break, and enjoy. They will thank you as you begin the week.
Have a wonderful day, all. Continued prayers for all who are facing challenges. Jesus is right next to you. Stop and let Him hold you and give you strength. And, remember, you have a community here who are praying for you 🙂 .
Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
