I’m guessing, if you’re like me, you’ve had times in your life when you’ve felt slighted, wronged, or you’ve felt like something just wasn’t fair. Yes, there have been a few times in my life when I’ve been there, done that.
As parents, we try to teach our kids that life is not always going to be fair. You have to learn to deal with what comes your way, and even when it’s the most difficult, you have to do the right thing. Look past the wrong, look past the pain, and do the right thing.
Why is it so hard for us to look past the hurt or the injustice we feel may have been done to us? I get that we are all human, and we all have feelings, but sometimes those feelings sure do get in the way of doing what Father wants us to do. Trust me, I know, again, been there, done that. When I look back over the years of my life, ya, there have been many a time when I wasn’t able to look past the wronged feelings I had. Now, as I think about those times, I wonder why I didn’t look past the pain, the hurt, the “it’s not fair”, and look to Jesus instead.
I think that’s how we know when we have grown into a relationship with Him fully. We can look past whatever pain we feel, to see Christ on the other side saying, “Come here to me, walk past what satan is trying to drag you through”.
I know we all face difficulties. Life isn’t fair, and there will be those times when things happen to us or to those we know that are just wrong. No one knows better than Jesus how that feels. A man who knew no sin, did no wrong, murdered brutally. Yet, in His final moments asked, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do”. If our Lord was able to look past the horrific treatment He endured, to ask forgiveness for us, my goodness, can’t we do the same?
We’ll face challenges, friends, we’ll be wronged, we’ll be hurt; however, if we can stop and look past those emotions to see Christ, we can muster the strength to do the right thing. Don’t let satan drag you through the muck; look past it to Jesus. Know that He is always there 🙂 .
Have a good day, everyone 🙂 .
