There are times when you just feel it, you have this sense that you need to do something particular. Call it your spidey sense, call it your gut feeling, call it intuition, or maybe it’s just Father giving you a nudge to do something. I like the latter myself, because, after all, He is totally in charge π .
Yesterday morning, I was focused on my day as I headed into work. I was stepping through the things on my list, some of which I wasn’t looking forward to tackling, when my phone buzzed. A friend sent me a text message with a beautiful picture of the sunrise over the ocean. The message that accompanied the picture was simple: “No matter how intense the world is, God gives us a moment of grace and peace to start the day”. Wow, how did she know that I needed to hear that and see the sunrise to start my day? I mean, the timing was pretty perfect.
I dialed her number to say thank you for the gift. We chatted a little bit as I told her about my day ahead. She said, “I wasn’t sure why, but I was just pulled to look for the sunrise this morning. I was hoping for a good one to get a picture because I felt you needed it today”. Ya, like I said earlier, call it spidey sense, gut feeling, intuition, nah…I call it a gift from our Lord.
I say it all the time here in this little blog, the Lord knows what we need before we can even think it. He meets all our needs if we just let Him into our lives. Yesterday, He knew how that picture and message would start my day with a smile, even though my task list had things on it I wasn’t excited about.
So today, friends, look for the little nudge from Father to do something for someone else. However small you think it might be, maybe just a simple “Good morning, have a great day”, text is all that someone needs. Something you think is very minor might just make all the difference to another.
Have a good day, friends. Continued prayers for Emily Rea’s return.
p.s. Thanks to my friend Cookie for the beautiful sunrise picture from the Outer Banks, the cover of today’s little blog.
