Trust Him to Guide

Do you believe that Father brings people into our lives for a reason? I certainly do. I don’t believe there are coincidences; I believe that the Lord has a plan for all of us and uses all things for good. I know there are times when we face challenges and definitely don’t feel like anything good can come of what is occurring. However, I believe that there are lessons to be learned in every challenge we overcome.

I have a meeting today to talk with a young man whom I just met briefly yesterday. He potentially could be a new team member. In the short time that I talked with him, I got a sense that he was what my mother-in-law used to call, “An old soul”. He is young, like early 20’s; however, he referred to himself as “old school”. Hmm…that comment got my attention. He made an impression, and today I look forward to learning more about this young man.

The situation was just interesting, how I came to meet him. He got a little lost when he came to our campus and called the front office. I answered, and he shared that he was standing by one of our Sunday school rooms. I told him to sit tight, and I would come to him. A few minutes later, I did indeed find him right where he said he was standing. His back was turned, and when I called to him, he turned and walked right up to me and shook my hand. He smiled and handed me his resume, and that’s when he said he had seen our ad online (that was posted less than 24 hours prior). “I’m a little old school, and I believe in handing my resume to people rather than just submitting it online”. I thanked him for coming out to drop it off and let him know I’d get it to our HR director, and we would be in touch.

I walked back to my office, smiling at the encounter. He seemed like a nice kid, and I have to admit I was impressed with his personal approach of dropping off his resume. I began to read his resume as I walked, and there were things that caught my attention immediately. It wasn’t the skills he listed; it was his opening introduction and his professional goals. I won’t go into the specifics; let’s just say he was different, at least on paper.

I don’t know how the interview will go today; that is yet to be seen. I just know that I can’t shake the feeling that God brought this young man to our campus yesterday for a reason. Maybe I’m making too much of this, but remember in an earlier blog this week, I mentioned how Father knows what we need when we need it?

I guess I’m rambling a little this morning, and I apologize for not being able to convey what I’m feeling more succinctly. Maybe I’m not supposed to. Maybe the Lord is helping me to just remind everyone that He is in the midst of all that happens in our lives. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and be guided by Him. Ok, Lord, I trust you to guide today πŸ™‚ .

Have a good day, friends. Continued prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
