We have a beautiful day on tap here in SW Florida. I don’t say that to rub it in, no, I say that to confirm how fortunate we are this weekend. Much of the United States is under a major winter weather advisory, with some areas expecting double-digit snow or even worse, an inch of ice.
This morning, I just wanted to share a prayer for all those in the path of this weather. If you still have time, please make your final preparations, fill your vehicles, test your generators, and ensure your food is well-stocked. Hunker down and make sure to check on each other throughout the next few days.
Heavenly Father, I come to you this morning and ask that you watch over all those in the path of this major storm. Provide clarity for preparation. Please be with all those who must work outside, the snowplow operators, EMS teams, the linemen, and all who serve during this time.
Father, please protect those who may not have safe homes, please guide them to shelters, wrap your loving arms around all who are in need at this time, and provide them with warmth.
Dear Lord, calm the storm, move it swiftly on its path that it may not linger. May we care for each other and, in the aftermath, support all who need help. Guide and protect your children over the coming days, dear Father. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
Psalm 4:8
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
