Well, the crazy weather continues. Yesterday, while leaving work, my husband and I noticed all of the communities here in Naples covering their flower beds. I, too, checked in with our church landscaper to make sure he had a plan to protect ours. There is a cold snap, a pretty good one heading our way that is for sure. Again, I get that it is a relative thing, given the cold that the northern parts of the country are feeling. However, it is a reality nonetheless. They are even predicting snow in Tampa this weekend, now that is something!
So, I’m heading out this morning to stock up on some fixings to make a pot of chili. I used to make it several times each winter up north, but of course really haven’t felt like it since being in Florida. Although I did win the community chili cookoff several years ago π . I’m actually looking forward to staying inside, doing some cooking, and enjoying a little slower-paced day. I plan to make some phone calls and check in on some loved ones and friends. And…yep, going to get a little time with that painting I’m working on.
Friends, the weather is real right now; it’s ugly all over. So, I just encourage you to take some time today to check in on family, friends, and neighbors. Especially where the cold is not the norm, people forget some simple things to make sure they are safe. And…if you get snow in some unlikely places, like Tampa, please give yourself extra time to get to where you are going.
Ok, I know I sound like a weather channel here, but my point is, things are a little whonkey right now. Take a moment to make sure others are safe. Make some chili, bake some cookies, and hey, make a little extra to share with a neighbor.
Have a good day, everyone. Please be safe. Spring will be here before we know it!
