My husband “scheduled” a call with his younger brother last night. I know it sounds kind of formal, but really, it was just making the time for them to chat. With the time difference and work schedules, it’s been difficult for them to connect. So after dinner last night, he made his way to his office, and it wasn’t long before I heard the laughter coming from the other side of the house π .
As we went to bed last night, my husband commented on how good it was to talk with his younger sibling. He said they talked about silly stuff, and though he didn’t say it, I guessed there was probably a little “remember when” tossed into that conversation as well.
As I drifted off to sleep last night, I was thinking about the gift of family and how precious it is. That’s when Father nudged me with a message. I heard, “I gave you these.”
He has provided us with so many gifts, and sometimes we don’t accept them as we should. I get it, we’re all human, and we make mistakes. We say stupid things, do even more stupid things, but at the end of the day, many of the gifts we are given are priceless.
So, friends, I just share a little reminder this morning, Father has given us precious gifts. The gift of family, our spouse, children, grandchildren, siblings, parents, grandparents, and dare I say the great grandchildren π . He has given us the gift of true friends, who are there for us through all of life’s ups and downs. He has given us the gift of a brand new day.
Today, I encourage you to accept these gifts from the Lord. Give a call to your family. When a friend says, “Let me help”, do so. One of the best ways to honor the Lord is to accept His gifts and treat them with the love and care that Jesus showed others.
Have a good day, friends.
1 Peter 4:10
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
