Love…Every Day

Another Valentine’s Day rolls around. A day when we celebrate love. A day filled with hearts, cards, chocolate, flowers, and all the things associated with love. We share these little gifts to show those we love that we care.

What would happen, though, if we approached every day the way we do Valentine’s Day? I get that it could be expensive to give flowers and chocolates every day, but I think you get what I mean. If we shared and showed love every day the way we do on Valentine’s Day, my goodness, the difference we could see in this world.

Jesus showed this kind of love every day of His life. He showed it to those He knew would betray Him. He showed it to those who would crucify Him. He even asked Father to forgive them for torturing Him just before He died. That is a love that we cannot fathom. However, that is the kind of love that He asks us to have in our hearts and share with those around us.

So, friends, on this Valentine’s Day, try sharing that love not only with your loved ones, but also with others you may meet. Say hello to a stranger, hold the door for the person behind you, or let the person trying to enter your turn lane in. (I know that last one is tough.) There are simple ways to share Christ’s love, and sometimes those simple ways are the most powerful.

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends. May it be filled with the joy and love that Jesus showed to all He met 🙂 .

p.s. Thanks to my friend Ron Hagerman for the beautiful sunrise picture from the Everglades yesterday morning, the cover of today’s little blog.

1 Corinthians 13:13
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
