My husband and I were chatting last night about the possibility of rain. We so need it here in SW Florida, well, the whole state needs it for that matter. We have some serious drought action happening. Fortunately, the forecast was calling for rain during the evening hours.

This morning, when I got up, I was expecting to hear the rain coming down. I stepped outside to the lanai to spend some morning time with Father. I could hear dripping in the downspouts, but not actual rain. So, we had gotten some dribbles, but that’s about it. Just as I was finishing my prayers, I could hear the sprinkles starting. At that point, I was trying to decide whether to take my walk or not. I wasn’t sure whether the rain was just delayed or what. That’s when I heard put on the coat, put on the armor, and walk. “Ahh, got it, Father”, I thought.

I believe that was the Lord telling me to first get out there and take care of myself and walk. But…He was also saying, put on your armor to walk in My ways all day. He knows that satan does his best every day to get me to turn from Him. Satan comes at us every day, trying to crack the armor that we wear, trying to get us to follow him.

We have to allow ourselves to be filled with the blessings and love of our Lord. Every day, we need to remind ourselves, “God loves me, and He will guide me through this day.” Regardless of the challenges we might face, whatever bumps in the road may come, He loves us and will be there for us.

So friends, before you head out to start your day, spend a little time with Father. Thank Him for the gift of this day, ask Him to guide you through, and be an example of His love. Then, put on your armor and face the day ready to tell satan to crawl back into his hole 🙂 .
