Reflect and Recommit

Today, we begin the Lenten season. The 40 days before Easter (not including Sundays). A time of reflection and repentance. A time to dig deeper into our hearts, opening even more space for our Lord to live through us.

In this little blog, I share a prayer I read this morning.

O Merciful Father,
Today I hear the sacred words:
“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
I stand before You in humility,
aware of my weakness and my need for Your mercy.

Lord, remind me that all I have comes from You.
Free my heart from pride and selfishness,
and teach me to depend completely on Your grace.
As these ashes rest upon me,
let them be a sign of true repentance
and a desire for a changed life.

Jesus, You humbled Yourself for my salvation.
Walk with me through this Lenten journey.
Help me turn away from sin,
carry my daily crosses with faith,
and follow You with a sincere heart.

Holy Spirit,
renew me from within.
Transform my thoughts, words, and actions,
so that my life may give glory to God.

As I begin Lent today,
prepare my heart for the Cross
and lead me toward the joy of the Resurrection.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Whether you participate “officially” in Lent or not, you can walk a Lenten journey with Jesus. Carve out this time between now and Easter to examine your relationship with Him. Recommit yourself to walking with Him, loving Him, and sharing Him with others.

Have a good day, friends.

Genesis 3:19
By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
