For Lent, I committed to reading more of my Bible. I’ve been intentional about it, sitting down and even moving things out of the way on my desk, so that my Bible is the focus. Many years ago, I was listening to a podcast, which was a Bible study of sorts. Anyway, at one point, the guest said to the host, “The more you read the Bible, the more it reads you”. Hmmm, I had to think about that, and now that I’ve been more intentional about reading it, I understand what he meant.
Lent is a time for reflection, for quiet seeking of a deeper relationship with our Lord. It’s a time to look at the things that keep us from that relationship. It’s a time to be intentional about getting back to Him.
As I was praying this morning, asking Father what I could share here in this little blog, I heard, “Come be with me”. Every day, we must commit the time to do just that, to be with Him. We have to be intentional in what we’re doing and dedicate the time that He deserves.
So, today, friends, take a little time to be intentional in your relationship with the Lord. Give Him time as you begin your day, time in the middle, and yes, time as you end it. Give thanks for His gifts, be intentional about prayer, and know that He is always right beside us.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of a new day. May I use this gift for Your work. Fill my heart with your spirit that I may share it with others. Light my path, guide my walk, and help me to show You in all that I do today. Lord help me to be intentional in my actions and in the words that I use, so they may glorify You. At the end of this day, may I be a child with whom You are well pleased. In Jesus’ name I pray Father, Amen.
Have a good day, friends. Continued prayers for the return of sweet Emily Rea.
