I’ve shared recently that I’m working on a rather large project at work. We’re revamping our website, and if you’ve worked on this type of project, you know that it requires being methodical in how you accomplish it. It’s so easy to go down rabbit holes, and before you know it, three hours have passed.
I’ve learned over the past few months to work from a detailed list. Literally checking the boxes as I go, this list has helped me to stay focused. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve found myself veering off, and I’ve had to just stop and remind myself that I need to stick to the plan. I add notes to my list to go back and hit that item I just thought about, just to be safe.
I’m finding that things are coming together. Will there be changes to be made at the end, of course. When I ask the rest of the team to give it their once-over, I know they will find mistakes, have recommendations and suggestions, and we’ll refine it to be even better.
So, this may be a stretch, but I think our relationship with Father is much like this project. I have a list that I need to stick to, it’s the Ten Commandments. If I follow that list daily, well, things will come together nicely. If I stay focused and stick to the plan, follow those ten simple rules, which include sharing His love, loving others as He does me, bringing others to a life with Him, well, then the final result will be something beautiful.
I know there are days when, like with my website project, I go down rabbit holes or veer off course. But…if I remind myself that I need to stick to the plan, and thank goodness I have the support of others to do that, then things settle back into focus.
Friends, there are so many things that take our attention away from our Lord. It’s easy to veer off course, it’s easy to forget that He is there and simply waiting for us to ask for His help. He is there just waiting. So, let’s not make Him wait; let’s jump in with both feet into a relationship that is like no other. In the end, it’s the only one that will matter ๐ .
Have a good day, everyone ๐ .
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
