Hard to Describe

My husband and I left work intentionally at an earlier time than usual. Notice I didn’t say we left early, ๐Ÿ™‚ . We left with a purpose, to enjoy happy hour at one of our local establishments. When we arrived, there were two seats in a great spot, lively conversation with other couples, wonderful nosh, and, best of all, it was all done by 6:00 p.m. We had time to catch the sunset at 6:30 p.m.!

We bid farewell to new “friends” and headed out the door to hopefully snag a parking space near the water. We drove just a block or two, and I whipped into the last spot in the lot ๐Ÿ™‚ . The sky was beautiful as we walked to the sand, and I have to tell you, when my feet hit the cool powder that felt like sugar, it was pretty awesome. There is just no describing the feeling.

I had forgotten that it’s spring break for many. We looked around at the young families and their children playing in the water, digging in the sand, and making memories they would have for many years to come. The peacefulness of this little snapshot in time, well, again, it’s hard to describe the feeling.

As I sat down this morning to type this little blog, I was recalling how wonderful the evening was last night. Recalling the undescribable feeling of peace and, well, joy. This, in addition to the Bible chapter of John that I’m reading, has me knowing the same peace and joy, it’s what is waiting for us when we meet Jesus.

John 14:1-3 is about Jesus comforting his disciples after washing their feet at the last supper. He has just given the bread to Judas, who then leaves to betray him. He says to them: “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, so that where I am, there you may be also”.

Jesus shows us every day how blessed we are. He shows us every day that if we continue His work, greater works actually, then we too will be with Him in paradise. And…when we get there, I’m betting it will be undescribable ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Just some little ramblings this morning, friends. Oh, a reminder that the clocks change this evening, yes, the dreaded loss of an hour of sleep. I’m going to take a break from this little blog tomorrow to make sure I get to church on time ๐Ÿ™‚ . I’ll be back on Monday morning!

Have a great day, everyone, and thank you again for the prayers for my brother; they are working ๐Ÿ™‚ .

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me”.
