Can you think of a better way to begin the day than with a morning prayer? Actually, when you think about it, can you think of a better way to end the day, or make your way through the day, than with prayer? A conversation with our Lord to share our deepest thoughts and feelings can be one of the most comforting moments of our day. Let me rephrase that, it should be one of the most comforting moments of our day.

Coming to Father during times of trial or challenge, it’s pretty natural to us. Lord, I’m in trouble, or my family or friends are in need, please help. Are we just as quick, though, when things are going well, to say, “Lord, things are wonderful, and I give all the glory to you”? I can speak for myself and say that I do eventually get there, but I’m afraid I don’t give thanks to Him as quickly as I should; I’m just happy when things are great 🙂 .

This little blog this morning is not meant to scold or say we can be better, duh, we all know that. No, this morning, I come here to provide a morning prayer to start the day, and give a simple reminder to touch base with Father throughout your day. Let Him know that He is in your thoughts and you want Him to be in your actions.

O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, you have brought us safely to the beginning of this day: Defend us by your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin nor run into any danger; and that, guided by your Spirit, we may do what is righteous in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A simple prayer for guidance, and protection from satan’s meddlings, ya that works 🙂 .
