I walked this morning. I got an earlier start than usual, not by much, but it was earlier. As I walked and began my morning conversation with Father, I noticed how quiet it was. Talking with God and listening to the quiet, it was a very peaceful feeling. I found myself walking and just listening to the rhythm of my footsteps.
Unfortunately, I hadn’t checked the weather before I headed out. It began to drizzle. Just a heavy mist, really. I thought about turning back home, but something told me to just keep walking, and I realized that it was ok if I got wet. I continued my conversation with Father, although this morning, I didn’t keep talking. I prayed for a bit and then fell silent. I found myself thinking about the walk that Jesus took on Good Friday. That picture filled my head for a better part of my quiet walk.
I asked Father what to share this morning, and to be honest, I didn’t hear anything. I believe that is exactly what He wanted me to share. Take time this week to be in the quiet. Let yourself connect with the Lord in the midst of the quiet. Step away from the “noise” that fills the day, maybe at lunch, or during an afternoon break, step away and be in the quiet with Jesus.
Ask Him to guide you through the coming days, emotional days. Find peace in the quiet, knowing that Jesus gave all for us, His children. Spend time with Him today, friends.
Have a wonderful day.
Mark 1:35
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there He prayed.
