A friend of mine once said, “Do you want to make God laugh? Tell him your plans.” True statement.

How often do we go down a path thinking we have a plan all laid out, only to have it totally upended. Everything is going along so smoothly, then wham, the bottom falls out.

Remember, our plans may not, and probably are not God’s plans. As much as we like to think we are in control, um, not so much. Time to check that thinking at the door.

I have a better idea, as difficult as it is to give up control, (trust me…I know how difficult giving up control is), why not set aside time each day to ask Father to guide you. “Father, show me the path you’d like for me to walk. Be in my heart and in my mind and help me to stop and listen to your guidance.”

Share a sunrise or a sunset with Father and spend some time giving him control. Trust me, it won’t be long before you feel an understanding of the path you should take, like writing a little blog for instance 🙂
