Just Laugh

My husband and I are celebrating 35 years of marriage today. Yesterday we treated ourselves to a day on the water, and then finished with a beautiful dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.

Throughout the day and evening, we played remember when. Then, we enjoyed time just taking in our surroundings. God has blessed us in ways too numerous to count. We have two beautiful children, two gorgeous grandchildren, families who are always there, and most importantly, we have Father.

We laughed a lot. We made fun of ourselves, we joked about times right after we got married, laughed about times when our kids did some pretty amazing, or incredible, or silly things, and thanked God for giving us these moments.

I think God has a pretty amazing sense of humor. I mean seriously, to deal with his children, he HAS to have an amazing sense of humor! Think about your children, the times you have laughed at what they have done, the times you have wanted to cry, but had to laugh instead. Now, think about Father and what he deals with???!!!

When times are difficult, when times are good, when love abounds, we need to laugh. God has blessed us all with a sense of humor. Admittedly, it might be a little misplaced at times, but that’s ok. Take the time to LAUGH. We need to enjoy this life. Live it to its fullest. Love your neighbor as yourself, extend a helping hand, Love Father and laugh. We are blessed, smile, and enjoy this time.

Thank you Father for the gift of 35 years with my best friend. Through all the ups and downs, through the laughter and the tears, you have bonded us together forever. Thank you.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

  1. Happy belated anniversary! We were in South Carolina celebrating Nick’s sister’s birthday. They all shared laughs on silly things they did as children.
