Me First

We all have our little routines I’m guessing, you know, the simple things you do at the start of each day for example. Maybe I should say, I have my little routines, like writing this little blog each morning. Well, this morning I got out of my routine. I sat down fully intending to start the blog as I usually do and before I knew it I was knee-deep in emails 😦 . My brain started bouncing around, do this, go here, take note of that, schedule this, etc. I could just feel my anxiety level start to climb and I hadn’t even opened my blog page.

All of a sudden a little voice in my ear said “Me First”, ya that was Father. It’s so simple these days, especially these days, to get out of your routine. Actually, I should say, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in me first instead of Father first.

The challenges in this life take over before we know it and we’re stressed, angry, sad, or feeling totally lost. If we had started first with God to ask for guidance, to talk with him about our plans, and ask for help and strength we probably would be feeling differently. I’m not saying there won’t be times when we will be stressed, or angry, of course, there will. But, if we can get into the habit of putting Father first, making a conversation with him be the start of our daily routine, I think we’ll find we will be stronger.

Let’s start by putting Father first, instead of me first. Thank you Lord for the subtle reminder this morning. Have a good day everyone 🙂 .

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

One response to “Me First”

  1. Great reminder! I start my day by inviting the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into my day. Thanking them for clearing my path and making way for more of them and less of me in my daily interactions. I think this has helped immensely
