Before we moved to Florida full-time, hubs and I would vacation here every year. You see my dad lived in Florida for a very long time, he actually built a home on Marco very long ago, and that’s where my love for the Island started. So we would come here to visit and even after my dad passed away we still came to this paradise once or twice a year.
Our children, of course, are very familiar with this neck of the woods and when our grandchildren came along, well, of course, we couldn’t wait to get them to the beach for the first time. Many memories are stored throughout this area we now call home.
Some of the best memories, however, are not on the beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets, or fishing docks of Florida, some of the best memories are taped to my computer monitors 🙂 . By now you are really wondering where the heck I’m going with this little blog this morning right?
Well, when we would travel to Florida in the summers, or actually when hubs and I would take little trips here or there, or even when I would travel for business, our kids/grandkids would watch our home. You know, they’d pick up the mail, feed the cats, water the plants, that type of thing. When our granddaughter was very young, she would often leave little notes to say welcome home, taped to our computer monitors. They were so simple and just made me smile. It wasn’t long before I would look for these little notes when we got home, and most of the time there they were.
During those times when I find myself missing home and my family, I glance down at these little reminders. Father seems to know what we need when we need it 🙂 . I realize again how blessed I am, and Father continues to show me what is important in life. He shows me these little notes as reminders when I need them.
So this morning as you have that first cup of coffee, think about your blessings, give thanks to Father for them, oh, and maybe take a moment to jot a little note to someone you love. Have a wonderful day friends 🙂 .
2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.
