Johnny Cash

So today’s little blog is just a fun did you know piece. Did you all know that Johnny Cash is a cousin of mine? Yes, it’s true, now granted he’s like a third cousin so some would say it doesn’t count. But not so, actually, I’ve done the family tree and yes, yes indeed my great-grandmother was Flossy Alice Cash. Remind me in a different blog to share how my mom actually considered naming me Flossy Magnolia. Sorry, didn’t mean to make you spit your coffee out with that one. Shew, thank goodness THAT name didn’t stick!

Over the years my Aunt Blanche, who passed away several years ago, would share stories about the Cash family. She gave me the information needed to dig deeper into the family tree. It’s been fun over the years to learn about this family connection. Seeing the manifests of who owned property, reading about the house where my great-grandmother lived, and seeing Johnny’s name there as well.

No, I never met Johnny, but I’ve heard stories about him. From all that I’ve heard and read he sounds like he was a very down-to-earth, loving man who loved God and his country. Ya, I’m guessing we are indeed related. But then again, I think we’re all related in that way, aren’t we?

So, there you go, just a little fun fact this morning as you start your day. Oh, and let me share this little two-minute snippet with you. It’s worth the listen 🙂 .

Happy Friday friends!

Ephesians 3:14-15
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named.

  1. First, I happen to love the name Kimberly. Second, I always suspected you came from royalty. Surely do miss you (and Bob, too)! Thanks for the posts. -Dg
