As you enjoy your morning coffee, please take a moment to remember our incredible Veterans. All gave some, and some gave all.
The military has been a part of my life since I was born. I’m an Airforce kid, my dad served for 25 years after he became a citizen of this great nation. My brother was an Army Tank Commander for over 20 years. A dear friend, a second dad to me, a nuclear submarine Captain, and you recently read in this little blog about my friend Tommy, a US Marine SGT, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2006. Each of these men, and so many other men and women are heroes. They willingly put their lives on the line every day, in countries most of us would never set foot in, to protect our freedoms and our great land.
The United States of America is a land like no other. Its foundation is built on God our Heavenly Father. Our people are what make it different than other nations. We don’t view ourselves as better than others, we are the most giving nation in history. When there is a need, America and her people respond, and many times it’s been our veterans leading the charge.
I for one am proud of this country. I’m even prouder of our Veterans, and I’m forever in their debt for selflessly giving of themselves to protect my freedoms. I will always honor their service and make a point of thanking them when I see them. This is the least I can do for them, show them the respect they deserve.
So on this Veterans day, take the opportunity to say Thank You to a Vet. The don’t expect it, they don’t ask for it, but they deserve it.
Happy Friday Friends 🙂
