Shopping List

It’s the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and if you’re like me, this is the day you brave the craziness of the grocery stores to get those final items for the big meal. Even though the stores are usually packed it’s a different kind of shopping. There is a different feeling in the air. People are smiling, maybe a little more talkative, and as you make your way through the store, the staff are wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

So if today is the day you are making that final food run, I’d like to encourage you to consider doing a couple of things. First, if your store is sponsoring a food drive for the local food bank, add a couple extra canned goods to your cart and drop them in the bins on your way by. Or, if time permits, drop those at the local food bank before Thanksgiving. Second, please take a moment to say Thank You to all of the workers who are stocking the shelves, cutting the meats, filling the seafood case, putting together those pre-prepped meals in the deli area, and the cashiers and baggers who are getting you through the check out line. These people work tirelessly over these next few days to help you and your family have all that you need to celebrate.

Lastly, please take a moment today to say a special thanks to Father that you can make the run to the grocery store to prep for your family’s Thanksgiving. Remember those who aren’t able to do this, and lend a hand where you can.

2 Corinthians 9:11
You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

  1. Thanks! It helps to be reminded of what our priorities are (or should be). Happy Thanksgiving!
