Thanks, everyone for your encouragement yesterday, your prayers, and your kind comments. I definitely felt the love and am feeling much better 🙂 .
I was listening to a podcast yesterday and the host was talking about something very similar to what I was going through. He was mentioning how he had been feeling in a not-so-good place and how one of his good friends had to give him some honest advice. He basically told him, “dude, Satan has made his way back into your head and you are giving him the space rent-free”. The host shared how he realized what had been going on for the past few days and realized indeed that Satan was at play again. “I knew the best thing for me to do was go spend some time with Father, like real-time with him to get some regrounding”.
That was a very timely message for sure, and one that I’m also sure was not an accident. God has a funny way of sending us what we need, doesn’t he? Well, in addition to spending quality time with God, our host suggested to not only give thanks for our blessings each day but actually take some time and list everything for which we are thankful. Hmm, I thought.
Last night as I went out onto the patio to spend my time with Father before bed, I took the advice that had been shared earlier in the day. I started to go down the list of all the blessings in my life. Well, let’s just say it puts a pretty different perspective on things when you are saying out loud, one by one, the blessings in your life. It makes you stop and think about how fortunate you are.
I’ve said before in this little blog that Father will not give us more than we can handle. We may feel at times that we can’t take anymore, but then God gives us a path to overcome the challenges we are facing. We get tempted at times to wallow awhile, that’s Satan playing in our heads and having a good ole time doing it. We are God’s children and we are strong if we but realize it.
So today friends, as you are getting ready for your day, I encourage you to not only give thanks for your blessings but say each blessing out loud. Maybe on your drive to work, go down your list and say thank you for each one. My guess is, by the time you get to work, you’ll feel even more blessed and you’ll be ready to evict the evil dude from your head 🙂 .
Have an awesome day my friends, and thank you again for your support and many prayers yesterday, they mean more than you will ever know 🙂 .
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
