Servants

As I type this little blog this morning, I simply come to you my friends, and ask for prayers. The tornados that tore through Mississippi on Friday evening have been devastating, with at least 26 victims so far. The latest reports say this was an EF-4 tornado and has left destruction across almost one hundred miles.

I lift prayers today for all those who have been impacted by this storm, lost loved ones, homes, and businesses, are injured, or have just seen things they cannot unsee. When you live through a natural disaster your body does things to protect itself, it shuts down where it needs to. I pray for strength for God’s children to draw closer and closer to Him. I pray that Father will engulf these communities and open the hearts of His children to let His healing power overcome them.

There are many teams headed to Mississippi to help on the ground. Our Marco Patriots team deployed yesterday afternoon to Rolling Fork, MS, to serve food and provide supplies where they can. They are being joined by the team at Dragon’s Breath BBQ from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I lift prayers for these servants of God who are giving of themselves to help a community in dire need. More than the food and supplies, these teams will provide comfort, hugs, shed tears and provide hope to a people hurting. These teams have lived through disasters first hand, and they know the pain. Together they will help heal and they will share Father’s unending love.

So today friends, please lift prayers for all effected by the storms in MS, and please say a prayer for the teams who are there to help. God watch over your children, protect them and guide them and give peace to those suffering.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
