Leaving the Ladder Down

If you read this little blog pretty regularly you know that I oversee a major business conference every year. Our association provides online resources so it’s always wonderful to come together in person that one time each year. It’s grown significantly in size over the years, and this year will be our largest with over 1100 attendees ๐Ÿ™‚ . It truly is an experience and actually, I don’t even think I can explain the connection that our attendees, well our members have with each other. They have become family almost to each other, you truly cannot explain the connection, you have to witness it.

A few years ago at our conference, just before our awards ceremony, actually it was a full fledged graduation for our profession designation holders, (that’s for another blog though), anyway just before the ceremony one of our presenters gave a wonderful tribute to the 2021 class. During this tribute she talked about leaving the ladder down for the newbies just starting their careers, the rookies so to speak who are just beginning their professional journey. She gave examples of how she has personally witnessed our group helping each other, someone has a question, faces a challenge in the office, or needs to just vent after a stressful day, a tribe of support floods to them. They lift each other, they encourage, they hold each other accountable to do the right thing, they are honest with each other, they laugh together, they cry occasionally, and they always there are there for each other. This group of individuals is “leaving the ladder down” to help others rise to where they need to be. The ladder is there to lend a hand.

This morning I thought about the Leave the ladder down talk given in 2021. Maybe it’s because we are less than three months away from our event and the excitement with attendees is building. As I thought about the talk and the concept, I realized that leaving the ladder down doesn’t just pertain to this situation. I think we’re called by Father to leave that ladder down every day. We’re called to be there to lend a hand to help others rise into that relationship with Him. We’re called to support, hold each other accountable, be honest with each other, laugh, cry, and always be there to offer the love of Father to each other.

So friends, as you go about your day, think about leaving the ladder down, leaving the door open to show others the love and relationship you have with God. He is always with us, and what a wonderful time to show others how he can be with them.

Have a great day my friends ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
